Dr. Joel M. Carlson: Gastroenterologist

Dr. Joel M. Carlson is a fellowship trained and board certified gastroenterologist. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Miami, Miami, FL. He then completed medical school at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Minneapolis, MN in 1986. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL in 1989 and fellowship in Gastroenterology in 1992, also at the University of Florida. Dr. Carlson is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Dr. Carlson is originally from Minnesota where he spent many years growing up on a farm. He knows the meaning of working hard and continues to do so. This is why if you are waiting for a return phone call and your phone rings near 10 p.m., Dr. Carlson may be getting back with you.

Professional Memberships include: Wisconsin Medical Society and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Nurse Practioner or  Physician Assistant position available.

In the interim, Dr. Carlson's GI nurses will consult with you. When you come for your appointment, you will be seen by Joan or Jennie. They may have taken care of you in the GI department in the hospital if you have already had a procedure! A couple of great and caring nurses.

 Janet: Clinic Coordinator

Janet joined the practice in 2010. She coordinates the clinic schedule and clinic activities working closely with the nurses and Kimberly. Janet readies patients for their consultations.

Janet loves riding her Harley, chocolate, and everything sweet! Her all-time favorite  is Wintergreen lifesavers.

Linda:  Clinic Assistant

Welcome Linda! Linda has joined our practice in August 2011. Linda is newly retired but a few days a week still keeps her busy yet able to have lots of time off. She will be vital in helping us get our records changed into an electronic form. She will also fill a need in answering your phone calls and making appointments. Linda has an extensive background in the medical field.

Connie: Clinic Assistant

Welcome Connie! She retired and decided to come to work in our office part-time to keep busy. Connie joined our practice in November 2011. Connie also has an extensive background in the medical field. Like Linda, Connie will schedule an appointment for you, relay your message, and get our records into an electronic format.

Connie loves riding her Harley too! 

Kimberly Carlson, MBA: GI Practice Administrator / CIO

Kimberly transitioned Dr. Carlson's practice from group practice to solo practice in 2005. She has a range of degrees from an Associate of Arts Programmer/Analyst, Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science to a Master of Business Administration. Her care about people, knowledge in Information Technology and Business keep us running.
