Knowing all about your gastroenterologist is VERY important. Ask questions. We will be happy to answer the things you are wondering about. KNOW your gastroenterologist. If we don't have an immediate answer, we will be happy to find out for you. Any physicians office should be happy to answer any question you have and if not, that should caution you.

Even if you have had a consultation previously or have had many procedures and may know the routine, you still need to have a consultation in our office. Patients health history and medicines change daily. The health information we need is for your protection and to allow Dr. Carlson to get the clearest pictures possible with proper preparation for your test.

• Medicine List - Bring a current  a list of medicines you take. Please include both prescribed and over-the-counter medicines.
• Insurance Card(s) - Bring your insurance card(s). Everyone's insurance seems to change from time to time so bring your cards so that we can verify the information we have with your information.

The consultation is scheduled for 30 minutes. This could be more or less time depending upon the needs of each patient. Please be a patient SUPER PATIENT if you are waiting.

Please understand Dr. Carlson is doing procedures at the hospital everyday. People get admitted to the hospital during the daytime and he may need to see some of those patient's urgently. Dr. Carlson will take all the time with you he needs when he sees you. If he is behind in his clinic schedule, he will NOT rush through your appointment. Sometimes patients get double booked in Dr. Carlson's timeslots. We will try to let you know ahead of time if this is the case for your appointment. Please bring something along to keep yourself busy to help time go by. We will give you updates as to Dr. Carlson's status if he is running late. If you are here for an appointment and absolutely cannot wait for Dr. Carlson any longer, we are happy to reschedule you. However, please remember, your next appointment to see him likely will not be in the next week or two. Please be a SUPER DUPER SUPER PATIENT if you have to wait for Dr. Carlson. We understand that your time is important to you as well.

Dr. Carlson is Board Certified and has been practicing gastroenterology for coming up on 20 years this summer. He has performed over 35,000 endoscopy procedures. Dr. Carlson is well respected for his knowledge and experience in GI. If you are recommended to have a colonoscopy or upper endoscopy- EGD procedure, Dr. Carlson's reputation speaks for itself, say "I want to see Dr. Carlson."
