Why have a screening colonoscopy?
If you are 50 years or older, the recommendation to have a screening colonoscopy is now! In 2008, there was an estimated almost 150,000 people diagnosed with colon cancer alone; almost 50,000 people died. Colon cancer is preventable! Be around for the rest of your life!
Our practice manager Kimberly has personal experience with a family member who ignored symptoms and when her family member went in for colonoscopy, had stage 4 colon polyps. This person was at extreme high risk of turning into cancer at any moment. The polyps were removed and this person remains cancer free.
